The 9th Annual Artistry in Wood, woodworking competition and exhibition will be held from February 17th – March 3, 2013 At the Northway Mall in Anchorage, AK.
Open entries accepted Sunday February 17th, 10am – 6pm, Monday February 18th 10am – 9pm
February 20 – March 3rd the exhibit is open to the public.
The 9th annual Artistry in Wood booklets are available at Hardware Specialties in Anchorage, Superior Hardwoods in Fairbanks, Spenard Builders in Anchorage, Palmer, Wasilla and Fairbanks and Alaska Industrial Hardware in Anchorage and Wasilla, plus the Kenai Peninsula Woodcarving Club in Sterling, or click here to download a pdf copy. Volunteers are the greatest asset to any event and we need you!!
Artistry in Wood gets underway on February 16th at 5pm for set-up of the display. It would help if you would bring drills, saws and etc.
“Take in” will take place on February 17th and 18th. Each club is to appoint members to check in entries for their club only. One person per shift works the best. Sunday is from 10am until 6pm and Monday is from 10am until 9pm. Four hour shifts would be great.
Judging will take place February 19th. Each club is to appoint their own judges (best to have 3). Please give the judges names and what time they want to judge to Cindy (use contact form below) as soon as possible.
Demonstrations are up to the clubs. People love to see how projects are made and always have a lot of questions. Please set up your own club schedule.
Volunteers are needed to keep a watchful eye on the exhibit and answer questions. Show dates run from February 20th until March 3rd.
Artistry in Wood Store.
Once again we will have a store to sell things at no charge to us. During the event, anyone entering AIW is welcome……. after the event we have been asked to keep the store open but only ACWA and AWA members are allowed. A 10% charge will be made on all sales to support Artistry in Wood.
Volunteers are needed again to work the store. The more the door is open …… the greater chance of sales.
