Hand Saw Making Class

ACWA Will be sponsoring a hand saw making class at the end of October.

We Will be making 22″ panel saws.  We will start with a pre-cut 1095 spring steel plate, that we will tooth on a Foley re-toother.  We will than use brass split nuts to attach our walnut handles.  The class will not cover sharpening, but you will go home with a nice hand saw!  All materials will be provided.  If you want to supply your own wood for the handle, you are welcome to do so.  You will need rasps and sand paper to shape and finish the handle.  If you have a tenon saw, please bring it, if not, don’t worry, there will be plenty to go around.

You must be an ACWA member to attend.  You may join HERE

The first day of class will be Sunday October 30th 9am – 4pm.  We will also meet on the evenings of November 1 and 2 form 6pm to 8pm to finish up. Here is a photo of a saw that Jonathan made.  Yours will look similar.
